The preface from "Early Masterpieces by Dig Rezod," 1992, Ho Ho Press, NYC:

Dig Rezod, poet, playwright, and bongo drummer, first surfaced in Pittsburgh in 1958. He was only eighteen. His work and Dada Beatnik philosophy catapulted him to the top of Pittsburgh's avant-garde. Much of the work in this volume was performed at the peak of his acclaim, at the Cafe Bastille, a coffeehouse in Pittsburgh's Bohemian mecca, on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside.

Rezod's flame on stage was bright and brief. He disappeared while serving as a late breakfast waiter at The Laurels, a hotel in the Catskills, and joined Actor's Equity under another name. He was never seen again. He continued to write. —Janet Coleman
